Amy Winehouse joined The Specials onstage at V Festival this evening (August 22).

The singer, who looked well, made her surprise appearance at the end of the band's set, joining them for 'You're Wondering Now'. Sharing singing duties with the band's vocalists, Winehouse waved happily at the crowd as she made her live comeback in the UK.

She then remained onstage to help the band wrap up their set with 'Ghost Town', before encouraging the crowd to clap them offstage.

The guest spot capped a set that had seen the veterans put their younger peers to shame with the most energetic performance of the day at Chelmsford so far.

Buzzing with energy as they tore through their set on the V Stage, the Coventry legends barely paused as they served up a series of classics in the sunshine.

With all the band, bar the be-suited frontman Terry Hall, jumping around, playing the likes of 'Gangsters', 'Monkey Man' and 'Stereotypes'.

Getting the crowd to skank along, 'A Message To You Rudy' was dedicated to all those "who aren't here", while 'Little Bitch and 'Nite Club' all had V Festival dancing too, before Winehouse stunned the audience by taking the stage at the set's climax.

The Specials played:

'Do The Dog'
'Too Much Too Young'
'It's Up To You'
'Gangsters'
'Rat Race'
'Monkey Man'
'Blank Expression'
'Doesn't Make It Alright'
'Concrete Jungle'
'Stereotypes'
'Man At C&A'
'A Message To You Rudy'
'Do Nothing'
'Little Bitch'
'Nite Club'
'You're Wondering Now'
'Ghost Town'
